"To love would be an awfully big adventure." — J.M. Barrie (Peter Pan)
For several reasons, I drove out to the country late last night.
I sang out loud
and let my mind run ahead along the highway.
The city lights gradually disappeared in my rear view mirror
and when the glow of the street lights stopped just before the road cuts through the mountain ridge
I let the darkness envelope me
and instead of feeling afraid or lost
I felt peace and an overwhelming sense of an otherworldly love
a love beyond imagination or definition.
This morning I let the extra oxygen in the country air heal me and set my heart alight.
