"It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it."
— Roger Ebert
Some days the need I feel to type is aloof in photographs or in
images flowing so beautifully across a screen
that my mind is quite content to let my fingers fall still
and simply breathe it all in.
This wedding video is truly unique and wonderful
and I am left feeling so thankful
to be married to Mr. D.
That is all today
and so much.
video first spotted here.

this is very special and original. i love it. thanks for sharing! can i ask a personal question? did you have two weddings? i love that idea! what was the reasoning?
We really only had one wedding and only exchanged vows once. We tossed around a lot of ideas about how we envisioned our wedding day and eventually we both felt that quasi-eloping was best for us and what we wanted. We had a list of things that were important to us that we didn't want to sacrifice, like having a photographer, my dress, flowers etc. (I wrote more about that day here.) It ended up being so intimate and stress-free with a handful of family and friends as witnesses. But at the same time, it was important to us to still celebrate and share this time in our lives with all of our friends and family. So in May we had a big celebration/reception with everyone. I love weddings - everything about them, but I think the most important thing is that its about the couple and the commitment they're making. For us, this was the best way to do it...and we still were able to celebrate with all the people we are so thankful for and love.
Thank you for your kind comment and question!
i really love that idea. i'm a quiet person, and after our "big" (even though it was much smaller than most) wedding, i realized i would have like it much more if it had been more intimate with just a few people. i think your wedding "celebration" that you had just recently was so dreamy and beautiful! thanks for your inspiring blog. i noticed another anon comment a few posts down- your writing is beautiful, not negative. thanks for your perspectives on life.
